Having settled down, and trying to be calm about Devon Smith’s shameful actions, I think I can sanely comment. I gladly gave 20-plus years of my life in the U.S. Navy to defend my country, and I am absolutely abhorred at this child’s and family’s actions.
I guess they have forgotten all the sacrifices made by the hundreds of thousands of men and women who paid the ultimate price for his privilege to act as he does.
He says he doesn’t believe in God. So be it — that’s his privilege; however, to not stand and respect the Pledge of Allegiance of his country goes way beyond my and many millions of Americans’ comprehension.
Were he in one of many other countries, the consequence would be very severe.
