LETTER TO THE EDITOR:

McCain’s criticism of Obama is hypocritical

John McCain, the presumptive Republican presidential nominee, has criticized Democratic presidential hopeful Barack Obama as being naive for saying he would support bombing Pakistan if there were actionable intelligence of Osama bin Laden’s whereabouts. McCain says you shouldn’t tip off your enemy to what you’re planning.

Is that so?

Then why did McCain and President Bush blab about his “surge” for months prior to its enactment? How much more effective would the surge have been and how much less American and Iraqi loss of life and limb would there have been if McCain and his surge cohort, Bush, hadn’t told the whole world about it for months in advance?

His hypocritical criticism of Obama may fool a lot of the people, but it doesn’t fool me.
