Letter to the editor:

Why the U.S. must control its borders

Before our eyes The New York Times is accelerating its well-deserved slide into oblivion thanks to misfits such as Lawrence Downes, an editorial writer for the Times. In his Monday commentary published in the Las Vegas Sun, headlined “Go after the bully,” he vilifies Lou Dobbs of CNN because he’s opposed to granting amnesty to millions of illegal aliens and wants to control our open borders.

Mr. Downes, after accepting a free lunch from Mr. Dobbs at the fancy Four Seasons restaurant, accelerated his anti-Dobbs tirades in his column.

An analogy to Downes’ convoluted thought process would be to ignore all crimes committed by American citizens who commit their crimes to supposedly feed and take care of their families.

The ramifications of not controlling our borders, and granting amnesty to the millions of illegals already here, will be devastating to our workforce, hospitals, schools, welfare and prison systems. But tell that to Arthur Sulzberger Jr., the ideologically/ethically twisted publisher of the Times, who is willing to bring down his newspaper for the cause.

Here’s a free nugget of information that any child should be able to comprehend: You don’t deport 12 million-plus illegal aliens, you take away their ability to work and take away all but emergency services, and they will self-deport.
