Who would have guessed conservationists had a sense of humor? The Nevada Conservation League released its early endorsements Friday, saying they “are reserved for pro-conservation incumbents that are facing contested primary elections this cycle.” Now that is funny. Why? Because endorsees Bill Raggio and John Marvel are Republicans only endorsed because they are being challenged by farther-to-the-right Republicans. “Lesser of two evils endorsements” would have been more accurate. The other half-dozen were Democrats, who can only be said to have “contested primary elections” in the sense that other candidates filed. None is seriously threatened on Aug. 12. I wonder if any of them begged?
