Solve water problem by not building

Thanks for the Las Vegas Sun’s great coverage of the proposed “water theft” from northeast Nevada.

I hope and pray State Engineer Tracy Taylor will not allow the Southern Nevada Water Authority one more drop of their water. Las Vegas has to learn how to handle its own water problems, and one way, which is long past due, is to put a building moratorium in place.

We comply with water waste management programs, get rid of our lawns, etc., and the Water Authority increases our water bills but still provides service to new projects. Water is the gold standard and Southern Nevada is all about greed.

I have lived here 10 years now and I love Southern Nevada, but I also love Northern Nevada, and all its beauty and history and very friendly people. I am ashamed of the rustling of White Pine County’s water by the Water Authority — all of us are allowing it to happen.
