While the country is being devastated by tornadoes, flooding and wildfires, where is our president? In Italy discussing Iran (another war maybe?).
His nonappearance and disengagement are a disgrace. He should be touring these critical areas, bringing some peace of mind and encouragement to all who have lost so much. For him to ignore what is happening is inconsiderate and shows a lack of thoughtfulness and leadership.
But what should we expect? This is the same president who said a few months ago that he had not heard gas was going to $4 a gallon. News to him. Well, at least he was right about the price. Gas is now approaching $5 a gallon and climbing. It seems he is just biding his time until he can retire to Texas and count his oil checks.
More than 70 percent of Americans agree with one thing: We also are biding our time — until he is gone.
