On June 11 the House killed legislation submitted by Rep. John Peterson, D-Pa., that would have lifted offshore drilling restrictions.
For years the liberal Democrats have been contending that they were seeking only to “protect the environment.” Of course, that is nonsense.
There are more than 3,200 oil rigs in the Gulf of Mexico and leakage has never been a problem, even during Hurricane Katrina’s onslaught. Holland, Norway and Sweden all have offshore oil drilling with no adverse environmental effects.
Hydrogen-powered cars, solar-powered cars, battery-powered cars and other alternatively powered vehicles are in the works. But the facts all say one thing — we need gasoline. Now!
The entire world is suffering because of our inadequate oil production. Apparently, campaign contributions from the Sierra Club and Greenpeace outweigh the needs of people.
