After reading Wednesday’s letter from Robert Klaus, I thought surely at the end of the letter I would find two words: “Only kidding.” Or perhaps, “April fools,” or “Gotcha, eh?”
When I realized he was serious, I then realized he must be drinking the Kool-Aid. He wonders what President Bush would have done as a peacetime president. Well, so do I, especially since this president was responsible for the current war of choice (not necessity).
Mr. Klaus thanked President Bush and the first lady for their dedication, loyalty, service and love for the country and its people. Why not ask the people of New Orleans, or maybe the families who have lost loved ones in this useless war just what they are thankful for.
After all that is happening in this country today, including home foreclosures and sky-high gas prices that are causing a domino effect on everything, I find it overwhelming that Mr. Klaus can arrive at this preposterous and almost laughable conclusion in regard to the caliber of the current president.
