Flashpoint:

Connecticut Sen. Joe Lieberman . . .

Connecticut Sen. Joe Lieberman brought his “independent Democrat” campaign for John McCain to Las Vegas on Monday and sat down for a face-to-face on the program of the same name. Lieberman defended McCain’s choice of Sarah Palin as his running mate, although he didn’t argue that she was more qualified than he. She’ll “be ready,” he said, damning with faint praise. After saying the Democratic Party has lost its way since he went to the Senate 20 years ago, he insisted he had no plans to switch parties. Not yet. And Lieberman said he believes voters will accept that McCain is more likely to reform Wall Street than that Democrat he once saw as a protege. You can find the interview on the Sun site by this afternoon.
