We must get back to the issues and let go of our need to gripe about Sarah Palin. She has received the only vetting the Republicans have needed since George Bush’s first term: She agrees that women need people in positions of power to tell them they may or may not have babies and may or may not get prescriptions for contraceptives. She needs nothing else.
Furthermore, some half-smart Republican on Friday night on “Real Time” said go ahead and complain about her — the Democrats are creating a backlash that will let the Republicans take another election.
Think about it: We Democrats have always had a wider set of causes that can create a loss of cohesion among us — we must not let ourselves again snatch defeat from the jaws of victory. The price is too high.
If it is necessary for some Clinton die-hards, and I am one , to complain, let’s do it on our own time and get together with the rest of the Democrats and support Barack Obama. He and Joe Biden can make a difference that we cannot afford to lose.
