LETTER TO THE EDITOR:

Stereotyping female Republicans is unfair

In her column last Saturday, “Polls show Obama feels the fury,” Bonnie Erbe overgeneralized about female voters and mischaracterized female Republicans. Particularly offensive was her negative hyperfocus on a stereotypical affluent white, married female voter of this party.

Many Republican women of all races and creeds simply resent wasteful, centralized government programs that enrich power brokers instead of empowering the broken-down members of our society. Also, these women from all walks of life are too savvy to promote deification of our federal representatives, regardless of political affiliation.

Additionally, we abhor that Washington legislators have become the secularist dictators of private sexual relations, pick-pocketing those who share core beliefs contrary to a humanistic ideology.

So, where is the separation of church and state when the state becomes the sole moral judge for only one constituency? Here Obama spoke the truth; this is above his pay scale.

Erbe and others of her own, ironically narrow elitist perspective don’t “get it” any more than most in the Democratic Party. Moreover, given commentary like this, one has to wonder if comprehensive analysis, genuine objectivity and true inclusiveness are above a lot of their pay scales.
