A discussion, not a monologue

Assembly Speaker Barbara Buckley, adding to a dialogue started by Chancellor Jim Rogers and joined by state Senate Minority leader Steven Horsford, will begin a series of town hall meetings Monday on the state’s financial structure. People can caricature it as a “listening tour” and prelude to a gubernatorial run or precursor to tax increases. Fine. But Buckley has assembled an impressive array of people from every region of the state to help lead the discussions and talk about what to do — or what can be done — to get rid of the peaks and valleys of revenue. She even has a Web site — www.nv2020.com. The point is: It will be a discussion, not a monologue. You know, like: No new taxes.
