Flash Point:

Nevada Mining Association is reaching out

AP reported Monday that the Nevada Mining Association “says its top goals for 2010 are to educate the public about the industry and its history in the state.” And this: “(NMA boss Tim) Crowley says the association will develop a comprehensive Web site and will do more social outreach using applications like Facebook to provide more information about mining.” Oh, and this: “The association also plans to expand its membership and anticipates reaching out to a larger number of legislative candidates and newly elected lawmakers because of turnover created by term limits.” How nice of them to want to reach out to so many people and show environmental sensitivity and be one with the state. It truly taxes me to figure out why.
