LETTER TO THE EDITOR:

Americans tired of the fighting, crave solutions

Tuesday elections in several states sent a preliminary but unique message to our governing bodies. It is clear to the voters that changes must occur in Washington.

I believe the message to the Republican Party was to stop saying no and to start helping the Democrats solve our financial crisis. The outcome in Kentucky’s Republican U.S. Senate primary, in which Rand Paul and his extreme-right outlook won, shows that even the President Barack Obama haters will not tolerate the status quo of the GOP. American people are sick and tired of big business making decisions for them.

As far as the Democratic Party, it needs to wake up and smell the coffee.

We all realize Obama inherited one of the greatest financial messes ever, and most of us are getting tired of hearing about it, but the Democrats don’t have the guts to solve the real problem. They are afraid of what looney tunes like Dick Cheney or Rush Limbaugh might say about their strategy on defense.

According to MSNBC, the cumulative cost of the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan is estimated to exceed $1 trillion. We cannot stabilize our economy if we keep throwing money at these oil-rich countries and end up with nothing but American sacrifices.

We can bring the troops home to help protect our borders and homefront. Maybe we can help solve the immigration and drug war problems along with our safekeeping.

Wake up, Democrats.
