Regarding the Las Vegas Sun’s Sunday article, “What the tests can’t measure — a principal’s impact is determined by criteria set by law, not by the testimonies of those for whom she is a beloved leader”:
I really enjoyed the profile/article about Kelly Sturdy, principal of Fay Herron Elementary School.
As she is a Michigan State University graduate (as I am), I know she is well-grounded in educational principles and practices. Instead of retaining her as a principal, the School Board should be considering her as the new Clark County superintendent.
Plus, anyone who can survive the winters of Escanaba, Mich., is “one tough cookie.”
