Regarding Irwin Kaufman’s May 20 letter to the editor, headlined “Why ‘Obamacare’ is not a dirty word”:
In short, it was very well written, and I couldn’t have said it better. My advice to people is research statements before you find yourself parroting others.
When I hear how America has the best health care system in the world, despite other information that says differently, I often wonder how they came to this conclusion. Then it hit me.
When people such as Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, House Minority Leader John Boehner, Rush Limbaugh and Glenn Beck repeat this over and over, I find that the public will just parrot what they say.
Unlike many others, when something does not sound right, I read and research before I draw a conclusion.
