History has shown that Abraham Lincoln was right when he said, “A house divided against itself cannot stand.” I don’t believe he added anything else to that statement such as: “unless there is an election coming up soon” or “unless pressure from special interests or political parties have a say in your decision or vote.”
It seems that our federal legislators just don’t get it, or just don’t agree with Mr. Lincoln.
I submit that, contrary to popular belief, our rich and powerful political representatives are intelligent enough to read between the lines of his quote. With respect to what is taking place in Washington today, that would mean we must all sacrifice now or we will pay dearly for generations for the decisions and failure to act in the best interest of “our house.”
