Letter to the editor:

Daylight saving practice is absurd

I enjoyed your Wednesday article about converting to the Mountain time zone.

One thing that needs to be addressed is the archaic practice of changing to daylight saving time. This twice-a-year clock changing idiocy really serves no purpose and is a wasted effort. Born during the world wars, for some reason it survives today. If need be, schools and farmers can set their own time schedules and leave everybody else alone. Arizona does not use DST and they seem to get along all right.

I suggest we use either Pacific or Mountain time, but forget about DST.
