Letter to the editor:

Former DA could help the public

I suppose congratulations are due to David Roger on his retirement and accepting a position with the Las Vegas Police Protective Association. Yet, I wonder if he gave thought to serving as a mentor and role model for impressionable members of our society, which could be done with organizations whose members give their time to aid people. Serving pro bono can be very rewarding, as well as providing time to be with family.

Perhaps the constraints of his job as district attorney did not permit his aiding the oppressed, but not only do the police need protection, now, it seems our citizenry needs more protection.
