With regards to Kevin Savage’s letter, “Faith in President Obama is shaken,” I would surmise that as a Republican, even a so-called moderate one, that he never had much faith in Obama to begin with.
Obama seems to be damned if he does and equally damned if he doesn’t. If he had left the embassies open despite the intelligence reports and another deadly attack were to have occurred, there would have been a hue and cry throughout this country.
The fact is, this administration has done more to get rid of terrorists than any other president in recent history. The advent of the drone has been used to kill many terrorists throughout the Middle East without the loss of American lives.
The disrespect by the right of this president is unprecedented. The clown in Missouri wearing the Obama mask is just one incident of hundreds. There are many progressives, including myself, who did not like many of the policies of President George W. Bush and were very vocal about it. However, there was very little disrespect for the office of the president as there is today.
In Congress, the Tea Party’s only agenda is to defund Obamacare, which isn’t going to happen no matter how many times they vote on it. The fact that there are many other areas, such as unemployment and infrastructure, that are so much more important does not seem to have any effect on them.
Obamacare hasn’t even gone into effect, yet the right wing feels the world will come to an end when it comes to pass. They need to get over this and try to accomplish something.
