LETTER TO THE EDITOR:

Election decided by votes, not money

In regards to the Dec. 4 letter “Billionaire Soros sold us bill of goods,” it appears the writer is totally oblivious to the facts and is not a fan of the president or his administration.

I am sure that George Soros contributed a very large sum of money to the president’s re-election. He has plenty of money and is entitled to contribute to whatever candidate he wishes, just as are the Koch brothers, Karl Rove and Sheldon Adelson, who contributed millions of dollars to a losing campaign. Evidently, he assumes that someone can buy a presidency.

It seems the only ones whining these days are the Tea Partyers and even moderate Republicans (if there are any left). They have made every effort to shut down this government and to bring down this president, to no avail. Until Republicans realize they rely solely on white middle-aged men and the white elderly, they will never command a majority of voters. If Congress wants to get this country back on track, lawmakers should quit playing politics and quit worrying about their next campaign.
