letter to the editor:

Energy monopoly costs us too much

Like many Nevadans, I have been under the impression that NV Energy is a public utility, that it at some time sold stock to raise money for improvements. It has always been regulated by the Public Utilities Commission, so it was a surprise that the state allowed the sale of a utility to a private buyer. My mistake for not being better informed.

So when is our attorney general going to file antitrust charges against this monopoly?

A friend moved to Texas, and the first day he and his wife were there, three companies approached them about being their power supplier. They pay a third of what they used to pay here.

Let’s start fixing our problems at the source, and if this attorney general wont fix it, let’s vote someone in who will.
