Regarding the push against Dotty’s gambling chain:

If anyone has a reason to be anti-Dotty’s, with losing work due to a purchase of theirs in the 2000s, it’s me.

However, I say, “Well done.” The company made the case for incidental gaming. Many, like myself, go to buy tobacco and maybe play some.

The fact is, the big guys could learn a thing or two from the little transplant from Oregon that started as a place for women to escape the sports bars with libido-enriched jocks and loud music/pool tables.

Congratulations to Dotty’s for scaring the big impersonal casinos that call themselves “local” and being a different kind of local bar/gaming place that has its own customer type.

If the founders of PT’s didn’t have their own brand of customers, they would not have been as successful as they have been.

Dotty’s has no sports, no loud jukebox music, and attendants that don’t have to be the typical sports bar “girl” bartender or even know the difference between RBI and RISP. Just cheap smokes; mostly attentive attendants; a quiet, clean atmosphere; and some video gaming.
