We should do everything we can to ensure that voter rolls are up to date so that the integrity of the vote is protected in Nevada. Assembly Bill 440 does just that by eliminating outdated voter registration deadlines while modernizing the way the state maintains the voter file and extending the right of Nevadans to register, online, until the Friday before elections.

The bill is a common-sense step in the right direction for Nevada and is exactly the kind of bill with which the Legislature should want to be associated. It should be a nonpartisan bill because it protects the rights of everyone who is eligible to vote.

AB440 will increase confidence in the voting process in Nevada while making it easier for more Nevadans to participate. AB440 is a clear win-win for Nevadans, and it should be a no-brainer for the Legislature.
