51s explode for 16 hits, 13 runs in victory against Salt Lake

The Las Vegas 51s pounded out 16 hits Sunday in a 13-9 victory against the visiting Salt Lake Bees at Cashman Field.

Omar Quintanilla hit a three-run home run in the eighth inning to give the 51s a comfortable lead, finishing 4-for-4 with two runs and three RBIs.

Josh Satin and Kirk Nieuwenhuis also hit home runs for Las Vegas, which won for the second time in three games against Salt Lake.

Collin Cowgill, Francisco Pena and Wilmer Flores each had two hits for Las Vegas. Jamie Hoffmann also had two hits to go along with three runs scored.

Greg Peavey earned the win for Las Vegas despite surrendering three runs in 2 1/3 innings.

The final game of the series is at 12:05 p.m. Monday.
