Some have twisted views of morality

I just finished reading Stan McClure’s letter “Obamacare’s flaws go beyond website.” He contends that the law is “immoral.” Really?

Is it moral for the richest nation on earth to have more than 30 million of its people without access to regular health care, many of whom rely on emergency rooms for basic services?

Is it moral for insurance companies to refuse services to people with pre-existing conditions or those who have reached some arbitrary monetary cap included in their policies?

Is it moral to tell parents that their children can no longer receive services because they reached another birthday regardless of whether they are still in school?

If Mr. McClure and others believe these are moral positions, then we are in much worse shape than previously thought.
