letter to the editor:

Heck goes where the wind blows

I am almost giddy with excitement every time you run an article about Congressman Joe Heck. Is it possible that there is a more indecisive member of the House? I certainly hope not.

We have read how Rep. Heck is very much in favor of immigration reform. But he has opposed every bill that has been proposed the past few years.

Naturally, he is in favor of making it harder for criminals and people with emotional and psychological problems to purchase guns. But he hasn’t supported any of the bills that have been proposed recently. Now we hear how he just doesn’t know how he’ll vote on legislation to curb the powers of the National Security Administration.

The beauty of all this indecision is it allows Greg Lemon, Heck’s spokesman, to spout cliches like: “As a member of the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence, Congressman Heck is focused on ensuring that our intelligence-gathering programs maintain national security while protecting the rights of American citizens.” Wow!

That’s a lot of words to say absolutely nothing.

So does Congressman Heck use up his daily decisiveness quota when he gets up every morning and decides to put on a white shirt? I can’t imagine how paralyzed he must be when he has to pick out a tie.
