Be prepared to protect yourself

The writer of the letter to the editor, “Police already have a tough job,” is correct when he says police are regular people and like to come home in a good mood. But they also have the power to take your freedom or your life, so their mood on the job is at least as important.

Police also can’t be everywhere all the time. It is therefore important for a well-trained public to have the necessary tools (firearms or swords) to protect themselves in an emergency situation until help arrives.
