After all the talk, literally hours and hours of talk, by the senator from Texas urging his colleagues to defund the “scourge” known as the Affordable Care Act, his one glaring omission was to submit an alternative plan.
Some on the right have anointed Sen. Ted Cruz as the new leader of the Republican Party. They’re calling him the only real conservative Republican whose vision should be followed. Question is: What vision?
He has made it very clear that his objective is to kill funding for ACA at any cost. He is willing to jeopardize the credit rating of the nation and hold up funding for everything from veterans’ benefits to Social Security payments.
He has described the health care law as “appeasement” and somehow linked it to Neville Chamberlain’s kowtow to Hitler.
The glaring question remains: What is his alternative?
Real leaders have real answers.
