letter to the editor:

GOP ignoring popular opinion

I have been watching CNN and listening to all the different views on Obamacare. The Republicans keep saying that the American people don’t want it, but I find that hard to believe.

Just last November, we had an election. The Republicans ran Mitt Romney, who was going to get rid of Obamacare. President Barack Obama ran on a platform to keep it. The Democrats won a majority in both the electoral and the popular vote.

I would think that would be enough to convince the Republican base that health care was something this nation wanted. Since then, the Republican House has voted more than 40 times to get rid of Obamacare and has been shot down. What part of “no” don’t they understand?

If the Republicans want to get rid of health care, they should run somebody for president who can defeat the Democrats. When they get someone in the Oval Office, they can do as they please.
