I could have written the June 27 letter “Talking can help someone grieve.”
My dear son Dennis was murdered almost 19 years ago in Des Moines, Iowa. I have been in Boulder City for almost six years and have had the pleasure of being a part of grief groups here.
Dennis was the light of my life. He brought happiness to many others as a keyboard player. He was in the wrong place at the wrong time and became an innocent victim. Whenever I have the opportunity to talk to other survivors, regardless of the cause of death, they are eager and happy to talk about their loved one. Don’t be afraid to ask; you will make their day.
