The NFL is contemplating expansion again. It seems they want to return to the Los Angeles marketplace.
I have an idea that might work for Southern Nevada. Let’s build a real nice stadium on or near the UNLV campus. It should have a retractable roof, seat at least 60,000, and have lots of fancy skyboxes and bathrooms.
The UNLV football team won’t be top shelf until it has a top-shelf stadium. Nevada deserves a top-shelf college football team, which would enhance our attraction to tourists.
I don’t know if anybody realizes what an NFL franchise would mean to Nevada. Look at what has happened since the Cardinals moved to Arizona. Think about a possible Super Bowl in Clark County.
I have been to a lot of professional football games, and I guarantee I would go to more if they were here. As for the costs, I don’t have a lot of disposable income, but I would gladly shell out a couple hundred in increased property taxes.
Let’s get on the bandwagon and get a team while the NFL is hot to trot.
