I’m glad to see articles on what’s being done to improve education in impoverished countries like Liberia (Re: “Privatization a solution to nations with failing schools”, July 21, Las Vegas Sun). No matter where someone is in the world, every single human being knows education is key for advancement.
Cutting funding for any educational program is a devastation in itself, but cutting the Global Partnership for Education will end the possibility of a better future for 25 million kids by 2020.
I urge Sen. Dean Heller to cosponsor the bipartisan Global Partnership for Education Resolution in support of the GPE replenishment when it is introduced.
Having a life filled with decisions and opportunities, we sometimes forget there are those without the ability to have those decisions.
