I found the concept of Finland giving money to its citizens interesting (“Finland experimenting with universal basic income,” Las Vegas Sun, Jan. 3), but I have two questions:
1. Where’s the money coming from?
2. If the people are getting money to spend as they wish, why would they work?
The article mentioned that people in the fast-food industry might leave that job, but how about the rest of the low-income workers? Seems to me there’s going to have to be a lot of automation or some businesses may not be able to find enough employees.
