Deep down, regardless of party, most of us know that the Russian bear has slapped the American eagle.
Our fractured national spirit, the ad nauseam cycle of “breaking news” and our political environment toxicity — all have led to a national restlessness.
The fact is nobody trusts much of anything anymore.
Russia’s’ strategic cyberattack was coupled with a sophisticated human element, all the while playing personalities and campaigns, jumbling our nation’s focus. We are now in the aftereffects of a tsunami-sized disruption.
Collusion or not, Russian hacking attacked our political process while our response thus far from our national leaders, beyond finger pointing and denial, has been tepid. Our executive and legislative machine is significantly stalled while Vladimir Putin is dancing in Moscow with glee.
