Letters to the Editor:

The environment needs our help

Clean air, clean water and saving our environment for our own enjoyment and for future generations are important to me. I know I’m not alone in this. Families, our communities, our health and a well-functioning economy depend on healthy citizens. When we allow corporations to pollute our air and water and desecrate our lands, we all pay.

Protecting our enviroment shouldn’t be a partisan issue. So why has the president rolled back environmental protections? Why has he allowed methane gas to be released into the ozone by oil and gas companies? Why has he allowed sludge from coal companies to be released into to rivers and streams?

We need to let him and our elected officials know that isn’t what we want.

Poor policies can destroy in a short time what would take years to rectify. Just look at Flint, Mich. Call Nevada Sens. Dean Heller and Catherine Cortez-Masto to ensure they are truly representing us and opposing these destructive changes.
