Sierra Vista topped 40 points for the fourth straight game—all wins—in a 48-0 home win over Bonanza.

Senior running back Kaika Faatiliga ran for 130 yards and three touchdowns to lead the Mountain Lions’ attack.

“I think we just wore them out,” Sierra Vista coach John Foss said. “We ran the ball well and [Bonanza] had quite a few kids playing both ways. We scored on the first couple possessions of the second half to get the running clock and went from there.”

With Faatiliga and the offense pouring on the points, the Sierra Vista defense swarmed, coming up with six interceptions.

“The defense did a really good job,” Foss said. “We were able to get a lot of pressure on the quarterback and make him throw the ball to the wrong person. That helped.”

Sierra Vista is now 4-1 on the season, with a league game at Desert Oasis set for next Friday. Bonanza is 1-5.
