I take offense to being called selfish, as the July 31 letter “Boomers are a selfish age group” asserted.
Nothing was handed to me. When I was 8 years old, I cut grass, washed cars or whatever else I could to earn a few bucks.
I am an Air Force veteran who just retired after working some 48 years. I also coached Little League in three states and was a Big Brother for about 10 children who had no father.
When I had time, I also volunteered, driving cancer patients to their appointments and for Candlelighters Childhood Cancer Foundation, so I don’t feel I’m selfish.
