It would be helpful if the writer of the Aug. 5 letter “Have some empathy for Americans” would be more specific. Which corrupt politician can he identify? What jobs are being lost to immigrgrants? Picking melons in Yuma, Ariz.? Shoveling chicken waste in a processing plant? Did he lose a job to an illegal immigrant?
I was living in California during the strawberry season, and pickers were making $75 to $125 a day. I didn’t see a rush of Americans applying for these backbreaking jobs.
I wish I could find the free health insurance he refers to. I’ll sign up.
