GOP standard for criminality shifts

Everyone is a criminal, right?

Why does the Republican Party have such a low bar for what makes you a criminal in the immigrant community? Does a parking ticket count? It might. Surely anything above that makes them a criminal. And they will be detained and prosecuted to the full extent of the law.

But within their own party, paying money to quiet someone to affect our election process isn’t really a crime — even though it is a core value in making elections fair and open.

Is trying to rig the outcome of an election just commonplace for the GOP? No one said it better than Orrin Hatch, the senior senator from Utah: “I don’t care.”

Well, Americans do care and we will let Hatch and his party know that in 2020.
