What a disgrace to have our government shut down — even for a minute — by a wannabe autocrat who needs to flex his muscles, feed his narcissism and court his fans at the expense of truly desperate fellow human beings who are staking their lives on the American dream.
I am fed up with the constant lies and distortions emanating from this White House, and especially disgusted by the president’s deflection of responsibility for his own actions. Bullies always blame others — e.g., “You made me do it!”
No, Democrats didn’t shut down the government – they held a moral line and wouldn’t blow $5 billion of our tax money to betray our sacred principles for an ineffective solution, a vile border wall that is also a symbol of rampant nationalism and xenophobia.
