In a Feb. 26 letter to the editor, “Be happy to get a tax break” the writer expressed delight in his recent tax break; claiming it to be more than Democrats ever gave him. Well, I know Democrats have not raised taxes on the middle class since President Ronald Reagan did it multiple times after giving massive tax cuts to the uber wealthy. I know each Democratic administration since President Harry Truman has paid down the national debt or, in Obama’s case, reduced the budget deficit. Not a single Republican administration has done that since President Richard Nixon.
The increase to our national debt for the writer’s new tax cut is the same as him giving himself a cash advance from his own credit card. Who does he suppose will be paying the bill?
