Scott Pruitt was forced to resign as head of the Environmental Protection Agency due to ethics scandals. The acting administrator, Andrew Wheeler, is nominated to be his replacement. This is unacceptable.
From 2009 until 2017, Wheeler was a lobbyist for the the coal mining industry and has moved aggressively to roll back environmental regulations.
Recently he admitted that he has not read the dire climate report issued by 13 federal government agencies.
Wheeler is not the person to head an agency charged with protecting the environment.
