It’s being reported that the White House was preparing a draft proclamation for President Donald Trump to declare a national emergency along the United States’ southern border.
When did this “national emergency” begin? For the past two years, Trump had a Republican-controlled House and Senate. For two years, he could have requested funds for his wall to be built along the entire border, and it would have been approved. However, it apparently wasn’t a “national emergency” then, and didn’t develop into one until after the midterm elections.
What event took place since November that created the emergency? Why didn’t the president see an emergency” earlier, and request funding be approved?
