President Donald Trump’s recent order to kill Iranian Maj. Gen. Qassem Soleimani shifted the balance of power in the Middle East to the United States from Iran, which had for 40 years been a dominant and growing threat in the region.
At the same time, political ideology has shifted far to the left for a substantial portion of the U.S. population. Consequently, the president has come under criticism for initiating an act of war for ordering the murder of a terrorist who is responsible for the killing of hundreds of U.S. troops in the Middle East. The shift of attitude is a troubling sign that Democrats are sympathetic to radical Islamic extremism.
Trump’s execution of this evil terrorist was above reproach and legally justified under the Constitution and existing laws of the land. He should be commended for his bold decision. Taking action will result in saving numerous lives, including the lives of Americans, in years to come.
