Steve Bannon has been indicted on charges of money laundering, fraud and conspiracy. He apparently embezzled $1 million from a GoFundMe account set up to help finance former President Donald Trump’s border wall. This account was mainly funded by Trump supporters, most of whom are hard-working, middle-class Americans simply earning an honest wage.
What sort of person steals from their own support base? What sort of person preys on the loyalty, fealty and blind trust of his followers? Bannon is a low-life braggart, a scammer and cheat who has no shame, no honor and no dignity. With utter defiance and no sign of remorse, he will soon pay for his various transgressions and hopefully spend sufficient jail time for some serious self-reflection.
Lest we forget, Bannon was a top-level adviser to Trump, one of his most trusted and loyal lieutenants. In fact, Trump pardoned Bannon from all federal charges prior to leaving office. Which begs the next question: With such intimate association and trust in someone like Bannon, is Trump a good judge of character?
