Police: 1 person killed, 1 wounded in shooting in Las Vegas parking lot

One person was killed and another wounded early Sunday in a shooting in a Las Vegas parking lot, according to Metro Police.

The incident was reported about 4:50 a.m. Sunday in the 4800 block of West Tropicana Avenue, just west of the Strip, police said.

Officer found two males suffering from apparent gunshot wounds, police said. They were taken to University Medical Center, where one of the males was pronounced dead, police said. No condition was provided for the other victim.

The males were in a parking lot having a conversation with another person, who pulled a gun and opened fire before fleeing the area, police said.

The Clark County Coroner’s Office will release the name of the deceased victim, police said.

The investigation is ongoing, police said.
