Letter to the Editor:

Utility math doesn’t add up

I’m a 76-year-old grumpy guy who agrees with the March 31 letter “Las Vegas is going downhill fast.” To it, I would add:

Why does NV Energy advertise despite being the only game in town? Maybe it could save the money and help us out with our electric bills.

The water district fines/bills people who use more than what someone has decided was their allotment. Shouldn’t they reimburse those who use less then their allotment?

Given the past few months of gas bills, I don’t see how gas is a better alternative to electric.

A train wreck, fire in Hawaii and bridge collapse in Baltimore are all worthy of our tax dollars to help with recovery, rebuilding and repair. But after all is said and done with suing all the entities responsible and getting all the monies, will the taxpayer money be returned, no matter who is president?

Whatever the laws are on immigration, they don’t seem to be working and it’s always more taxpayer money for housing, care, border agents, etc., to fix what some politician decided was a good idea.
