At a time when many Republicans are doubling down on trying to make abortion illegal, a proposition that is going to cost them heavily at the election booth, the Tennessee Legislature is in the process of passing a law that would allow teachers to carry concealed weapons in the classroom.
No teacher asked for this. The people willing to come to the Tennessee House to demonstrate against this action were physically removed from the gallery by state police.
Abortion will not be on the ballot in November in Tennessee. I guess this gaggle of Republicans had to find some other issue on which they could drive folks to the polls to vote them out.
