Vice President Harris has some explaining to do

Vice President Kamala Harris must have a cogent explanation for the illegal immigration that spiked during President Joe Biden’s watch.

She must also explain that she was not a border czar. Her job was to consult with leaders of countries whose citizens were coming to the U.S.

She must explain to the country that people in Central and South America were fleeing hellish conditions in their countries and those people felt wrongly that the U.S. had become a sanctuary.

Biden and Harris tried to change the immigration law, which does not set limits on asylum seekers. But the Republican House would not approve the changes, acceding to the request of Donald Trump, because Trump wanted to use the immigration crisis as a campaign weapon against Biden.

But Harris must also point out that the U.S. economy has been so strong that there was great demand for people who would do the jobs that Americans were not willing to do, such as picking fruits and vegetables, and landscaping.

Contrary to what Trump claims, most murders and rapes are not being committed by undocumented immigrants buy by citizens. A former president has in fact been accused of having committed a rape decades ago.
